Elections Update

As of February 12, we've moved into a new phase of the June 5, 2018 elections process: declaration of candidacy and nomination period.
Many thanks to all the District 5 voters (more than 100 people) who signed my nomination/in-lieu petition! Collecting signatures was a great way to get out and talk with residents about their ideas and concerns. These signatures qualified me for nomination to office, and I will file my declaration of candidacy later this month ahead of the March 9 deadline. According to the Mono County candidates' guide, "the Declaration of Candidacy is the official nomination document, wherein the candidate indicates how his or her name and ballot designation is to appear on the ballot. Additionally, the candidate declares that he/she meets the statutory and/or constitutional qualifications for the office sought, and that if nominated, the candidate will accept the nomination and not withdraw."
While candidates for local office complete their paperwork and move into campaign mode, voters (especially voters in Mammoth Lakes and other county communities where we have separate mailing and physical addresses) have an important task to do, too. Please follow the link below for information on how to check your voter registration to make sure that it matches your current physical address.
Every vote counts; please make sure all the details of your voter registration are correct to avoid any issues on elections day.
